	History When we began developing our herbal smoking mixtures four years ago, we were surprised at the great response they received. It appeared that many people had been waiting for an alternative to tobacco for some time. Unfortunately, German law prohibits the supply of substances which do not contain nicotine for the purpose of smoking. We comply with this demand with the following sentence which appears on the back of every packet of Knaster: The ingredients of this natural herbal blend have a long tradition among native Americans. For example, they were smoked at ritual occasions pure or mixed with other substances.
